At Five Star Tool, we have the latest in Swiss Turning technology. Our machines can machine up to 5-axis parts some of the latest in technology. Our Swiss-type machines can hold tolerances as low as 13 microns (.0005 in.). The size range of Swiss-turned parts is 2 mm (.0787”) minimum diameter to 32 mm (1.260”) maximum diameter x 1219.2 mm (48”) maximum length.
Swiss-type lathes are highly automated and are typically controlled by a computer numerical control (CNC) system. They can be programmed to perform a variety of operations, such as drilling, milling, tapping, and threading, as well as more complex operations like polygon turning, mill-turning, and multi-axis machining.
We can bring value-added features into tool designs that will provide cost reductions, improve cycle time, and overcome high tolerances. These improvements in design will reduce inventory and allow for fewer tool changes.
